A PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
In this video Leslie Morgan Steiner talks about her personal experience being in an abusive relationship. Streiner also talks about the warning signs and stages of an abusive relationship and how she got out of one herself.
Domestic Violence is the "The willful intimidation, physical assault, battery, sexual assault, and/or other abusive behavior as part of a systematic pattern of power and control perpetrated by one intimate partner against another." This includes emotional abuse, physical, psychological, and sexual violence. Domestic violence basically consists of, emotional abuse, and controlling behavior of the other partner, "a systematic pattern of dominance and control."
In Domestic Violence, the main idea is to have dominance over the other partner in the intimate relationship, they want to maintain power and have control over the other partner.
Domestic violence can occur in any community, to any age, to any race, and to any sexuality, gender, and etc.
Some people may not know they signs of an abusive relationship, because some of the signs may seem so harmless. However, here are some signs of an abusive realtionship, but not limited to:

Stage 1: Tensions Building
Stage 2: Incident happens
Stage 3: Reconciliation
Stage 4: Calm/Honeymoon Phase

- Accusing the victim, of doing something they're not
- Monitoring the victim's every move
- Telling the victim what to do
- Forcing the victim to do sexual things they do not want to do
- Preventing the victim from going places. For example, work, school, going out with friends, and etc.
